I don't think you'll find the word 'Processorise' in the English Dictionary, it's my word that I use to describe what it is I help small businesses do - and my description above gives you several good reasons why you should do it, but there are more.
If you've read Michael Gerber's E-Myth, you will be familiar with his concept of creating systems and structure in all businesses as though they are going to be franchised (even if they are not). This is because, to have a franchisable business, there needs to be structure, organisation, and systems that allow a consistent output, so that whichever branch of the franchise you interact with, you receive the same experience.
If you set your business up to give a consistent output, even if you don't want to franchise it, surely that will make it a great business and that can only be beneficial to the bottom line?
And that is the first reason to processorise your business - to create consistent service and standards.
Another key reason to processorise is to reduce the reliance on one person within the business - whether that's you or a key employee. There is often one or more key people within a business that know "everything" (or at least everything to do with their area). What will happen if they get ill and can't come to work for a month? Getting the information out of their head and into a process that can be followed by another appropriate employee/temp means that the business won't grind to a halt without them.
Once your business is reliant on a well structured system that anyone of the appropriate calibre can run, rather than relying on one of two key people, the value of the company will increase. If you're looking for an exit strategy in the next few years, improving the company value through processorising is another good reason to do it!
Often small business owners think they will lose control if they start employing staff or outsourcing work, but if you processorise your business then you gain control, as everyone will know exactly who is doing what and when - you just need to find the right people to run the process!
Gaining control and releasing some of your time through processorising will also help to reduce your stress, and who doesn't want that!
That's just 5 reasons why you should think about processorising your business, but there will be more, depending on your situation.
